On Child Welfare

Child Welfare Information Gateway: provides access to print and electronic publications, websites, databases, and online learning tools for improving child welfare practice, including resources that can be shared with families. You can law related information as well.

Administration for Children & Families (ACF): Under the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). You can find information on Social Security Act, budget, facts of other related agencies (e.g., Child Care Bureau, Office of Family Assistance, Office of Refugee Resettlement and so forth), and legislative and policy information on a wide range of topics.

On Foster Care

Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago
An independent policy research center whose mission is to build knowledge that improves policies and programs for children and youth, families, and their communities. Research areas include child welfare and foster care systems, community change, early childhood initiatives, schools and school systems and others.

A policy center at the University of Washington. Provides research and services on foster care.

On International Policy

European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research
The European Centre provides expertise in the fields of welfare and social policy development in a broad sense - in particular in areas where multi-or interdisciplinary approaches, integrated policies and inter-sectoral action are called for.
UNICEF: Childinfo
contains UNICEF’s statistical information, including data used in UNICEF’s flagship publications, The State of the World’s Children and Progress for Children. Also here are technical resources for conducting UNICEF-supported Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS), which are a major source of global development data.
European Commission
The European Commission embodies and upholds the general interest of the European Union and is the driving force in the Union's institutional system. Its four main roles are to propose legislation to Parliament and the Council, to administer and implement Community policies, to enforce Community law (jointly with the Court of Justice) and to negotiate international agreements, mainly those relating to trade and cooperation.
