The Kenneth Franzheim II Rare Books Room is located on the Jenkins Library’s upper mezzanine and contains more than 1000 books, pamphlets, and ephemera on all aspects of visual arts and culture. Highlights include an original set of Josef Albers' Interaction of Color, as well as Formulation, Articulation, reproductions of Diego Rivera frescos, bound in 1934, the Andy Warhol pop-up book (1969), Prints by American Negro Artists (1965), 19th century books of travel photography, and an extensive collection of historic art journals. The collection may be explored by applying a location filter, as seen below. Franzheim Collection books are in the Arch & Art Special Collections and Arch & Art Special Collections Oversize locations.
The UH Digital Library contains digitized and downloadable images from the Kenneth Franzheim II Rare Books Room and the M.D. Anderson Library's Special Collections. Collections include the Medieval Manuscript Leaves and Fragments, Moderner Volkskunst Zierat, SEM Collection (1914-1925), and Student Art Exhibits
The Performing & Visual Arts Research Collection at the University of Houston Libraries contains the records of well-known Houston-area organizations, as well as a few prominent collections from further afield, that document theater companies, directors, producers, and solo performers, as well as non-professional groups.

Both The Menil Collection and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston house libraries and archives that include artists' files, artists' papers, and rare art books. Patrons must make special arrangements to see the Menil library and archives and the MFAH archives. Patrons may visit the MFAH libraries during regular hours.
