Using Your Library Accounts

This page will explain how to log in to your library account and some of the basic features that are accessible once logged in. If you'd like assistance with library account features you can email a librarian at libteach@uh.edu.

Logging in to Your Library Account

To sign-in to your library account from a computer, click on the "My Accounts" button on the top right of the screen. To access this button on mobile, tap the menu button on the top right of the screen.

From the "My Accounts" page you can sign in to your library account or your interlibrary loan account. Signing in to your library account grants you access to search features that are not a part of the default interface.

Account Features

Once you are logged into your library account you will be able to pin results (Pin icon) to your favorites, allowing you to access them easily later. While you are signed in your search history (Search History icon) will also be saved so you can return to previous searches quickly.

From the "My Favorites" menu you can access saved records, saved searches, and your search history. You can add labels to your saved records to organize them into easily accessible lists. You can add labels to multiple items at once or label items individually. Labelled lists will appear on the right hand side of the screen.

Signing in to your library account also allows users to save searches with the "Save query" button on the search results page. Saved searches can be found in the "My Favorites" section of a users library account. Alerts can be set by clicking the bell icon for a saved search. These alerts will notify users whenever a new result for the saved search is added to the library collection.

Requesting an Item

Logging into your library account also allows you to have items sent to the library of your choosing to pick up. When looking at the record for an item in the library you will see a section titled "Get It." If the item that you are attempting to get is physical and can be loaned outside of the library, there will be a "Request" button. Clicking that button will allow you to request it be sent to one of the campus libraries for you to pick up. You will be notified through email when your item is ready to be picked up.
