RefWorks is an online citation management, writing, and collaboration system that is offered free of charge by the UH Libraries to all UH students, staff, and faculty. RefWorks helps you to organize and manage the references you consult during the research process as well as cite those references within your work.

 Use Refworks if you:

• Want a web-based citation manager.
• Need to store and cite references that are not just text sources but video, images, and sound, too.
• Collaborate with researchers and want to share references.

Create an Account

1. Access Refworks through the UH Libraries.
2. Log in using your Cougarnet username and password.
3. Click on Create Account (see screenshot below).
4. Enter your UH email address, then click on Check.
5. Create a Password and click Sign Up.
6. Click on the activation link sent to your email.
