Use citation management tools to collect, organize, cite, and share references for research

EndNote Online

EndNote Online is a web-based citation management system. This free tool gives you the ability to collect references from print and online resources, organize your reference library, format citations so you can insert them into your research, and create bibliographies.

 Use EndNote Online if you:

  • Want a web-based citation management tool
  • Want to sync up your desktop version of EndNote
  • Use Microsoft Word for your writing and want to take advantage of the Cite While You Write feature.

 

Access EndNote Online

Create an Account

  1. Access Endnote Online through the UH Libraries. 
  2. Log in using your Cougarnet username and password
  3. Select Register (see screenshot below).
  4. Complete the registration form using your UH email address and click on "Register."
  5. You will receive a confirmation email granting you access to your EndNote Online account.

Full-Text Linking

If you are linking your EndNote Online account to the desktop version of Endnote, you can take advantage of the the Full-Text Linking Feature on the desktop version of EndNote. This allows you to attach full-text documents in EndNote references while searching library databases with one-click.

  1. In EndNote desktop, open Edit and select Preferences
  2. Click on Find Full Text.
  3. In OpenURL Path enter: https://libraries.uh.edu/resolver
  4. In Authenticate with enter: http://ezproxy.lib.uh.edu/Login?URL=
  5. Click OK.
