In-class activity: Evaluating resources on the Web

Citing your sources

  • Zotero
Download this plug-in. This is a good choice if you use the same computer to do all your work.
  • BibMe
A quick way to build your bibliography if you are using APA format.
  • RefWorks
Web-based so more portable than Zotero and more features than BibMe.

Find books, journals and more

Need to find books on a topic?  Looking for a specific journal?  Search the Library catalog or use OneSearch on the Library home page to search across many resources at once.

(Obtain articles and books the Library doesn't own through the free Interlibrary Loan service.)

    Finding paper topics

Should you have the option to choose a paper topic, these science and technology magazine websites are a great place to browse (and to keep up with the latest developments, news, opinions.)  (These don't duplicate the entire content of the magazines which cost anywhere from $10 (Wired) to $72 (New Scientist) for a full subscription.)
