Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is anything that integrates, stores, edits, analyzes, shares, and displays geographic information. GIS applications are tools that allow users to create interactive queries, analyze spatial information, edit data in maps, and present the results of all these operations.
The UH Library is committed to partnering with students, faculty, research centers, staff, and campus IT departments to ensure that every UH researcher has access to the hardware, software, and support to integrate GIS in their research areas and course curriculum.
ArcGIS is state-of-the-art proprietary GIS Software. It is available in the UH Libraries Learning Commons.
ArcGIS for Desktop software is a Windows-only application. See below to obtain the software for additional computers.
