Industry Classification Codes

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy. Introduced in 1997 and continues to be updated.

Warning: The SIC Code list was last updated in 1987, industries that are information technology related (eg: Microsoft, Google, Ebay etc.) are not classified.  A search of the word "Internet" produces no results.
