Searching for Books/Journals

Find Library Books

Use the main search box on the Library Homepage to find library materials including books. All materials in the Library have a "call number" assigned. Use the location chart to find books in the stacks. The same location chart is posted at all elevator entrances across the library.

The library has many e-books. If you are off-campus, use your CougarNet account to login for gaining access to e-books. Because the library building is closed due to COVID-19, please contact us for access to print books and other materials from the library general collections. Our staff at the Library will scan and email chapters and articles to you, or mail entire items as needed.

Request for purchase:  You may request the Library to purchase books.  Here is the online request form.

Locating Print Books by Call Number

Most books in general psychology are assigned a call number starting with BF.  All BF books are located on the 8th floor, Blue Wing of the M.D. Anderson Library.  The books that fall into the subject area of mental disorders and their treatments usually have a call number starting with RC or RJ, and all those books are on the second-floor brown wing.
