Evidence-Based Practice Resources
- ECRI Guidelines Trust™ECRI Guidelines Trust™ is a publicly available web-based repository of objective, evidence-based clinical practice guideline content. Its purpose is to provide physicians, nurses, other clinical specialties, and members of the healthcare community with up-to-date clinical practices to advance safe and effective patient care.
- Agency for Healthcare Research and QualityAHRQ is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of America's health care system. AHRQ develops the knowledge, tools, and data needed to improve the health care system and help Americans, health care professionals, and policymakers make informed health decisions.
- The Community GuideThe Guide to Community Preventive Services (The Community Guide) is a collection of evidence-based findings of the Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF). It is a resource to help you select interventions to improve health and prevent disease in your state, community, community organization, business, healthcare organization, or school.
- National Patient Safety Goals®From the Joint Commission, the 2019 National Patient Safety Goals® (NPSGs) . Included on each program's page is a link to download the chapter.

- American Nurses Association (ANA)ANA is the premier organization representing the interests of the 4 million registered nurses across the United States.
- National Student Nurses Association (NSNA)NSNA is a nonprofit organization for students enrolled in associate, baccalaureate, diploma, and generic graduate nursing programs. It is dedicated to fostering the professional development of nursing students.
- Texas Nurses Association (TNA)TNA is a statewide membership-based professional association of licensed nurses.

- Joint CommissionThe Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including hospitals and health care organizations that provide ambulatory and office-based surgery, behavioral health, home health care, laboratory and nursing care center services.
- National Institute of Nursing ResearchNINR is one of 27 Institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NINR supports and conducts clinical and basic research and research training on health and illness across the lifespan. The Institute's research focus encompasses health promotion and disease prevention, quality of life, health disparities, and end-of-life.
- Texas Board of NursingThe BON protects the public from unsafe nursing practice, provides approval for more than 200 nursing education programs, issues licenses to more than 27,000 nurses per year by examination to new graduates and by endorsement to licensees from other states seeking a Texas license, as well as providing nursing practice and education guidance to more than 350,000 currently licensed nurses practicing in the State of Texas.

A Word About Evaluating Websites
There is a lot of health information freely available on the Internet. Some websites offer up-to-date, authoritative information. Some websites offer out-dated, misunderstood, and incorrect information. To complicate matters, it can be very difficult to tell the two apart. The following will help you evaluate health information websites and allow you to judge each website on its information merit, not just its looks: A User's Guide to Finding and Evaluating Health Information on the Web (Medical Library Association).
