Purpose

This guide was created to provide HDCS 4300 students research resources for the final term paper.

 

Term Paper Guidelines

TERM PROJECTS GUIDELINES

Please examine the current research. You are working on with me and do the following:

1)      Create a research topic/paper after rough review on the topic.

2)      Write a 1-2 page introduction for the given topic.

a. Make sure to include a purpose statement.

b. Make sure to explain why/how this research is important to extend the current state of the literature. The why/how needs to be at least 200 words.

3) Develop a model that includes at minimum 6 hypotheses, create a constructs

development section, and create a hypotheses development section.

a.      Please state and include the direction in hypotheses.

b.      Make sure you define the constructs and discuss constructs in detail.

c.      Make sure that you also bring in appropriate literature to link the constructs together.

d.      Include the model as Figure One.

4)      What type of method(s) will be most appropriate for this study?

a.      Include a sample section (who/why do you want to sample this group)?

b.      A tentative analysis section (defend why you chose a given method). This part should be at least 1.5 pages.

c.      A measurement section (please also create a survey/measurement tool and attach as Appendix One).

5)      Create a reference section for the paper

a.      This should include 20 or more citations. Further, at least 10 should be within the last 10 years.

b.      Please include the references in using APA or MLA style (Should be consistent).
