Data selection, processing, and visualization should be considered, by collection development practitioners, as phases of a single procedure which requires an integrated set of techniques. These phases necessitate process actions, which are applied in response to the data’s content and format, as well as the practitioner’s intent for interpretation.
This guide serves as an accompaniment to the workshop of same title, and features four complete process-to-visualization modules using example data-sets. In each module, participants can explore and gain understanding of the phases of the data process, along with associated techniques and tools.
Beyond the four modules, tabs on data visualization principals and data processing techniques are meant to serve as more general points of reference for interested practitioners.
