The Kenneth Franzheim II Rare Books Room is located on the Jenkins Library’s upper mezzanine and contains more than 1000 books, pamphlets, and ephemera on all aspects of visual arts and culture. Highlights include an original set of Josef Albers' Interaction of Color, as well as Formulation, Articulation, reproductions of Diego Rivera frescos, bound in 1934, the Andy Warhol pop-up book (1969), Prints by American Negro Artists (1965), 19th century books of travel photography, and an extensive collection of historic art journals. The collection may be explored by searching the location “UH Architecture & Art” and sub-collection “Special Collections” in the catalog.
